Crunchy, cheesy, and salty, halloumi fries are the perfect compliment to a burger, a delicious appetizer, or late night snack.

1/4 cup mayonnaise โฃโฃ
1 teaspoon zaatar โฃโฃ
1 teaspoon olive oil โฃโฃ
1/2 cloves garlic, grated โฃ
Pinch of salt โฃโฃ

โฃ1 pack halloumi โฃโฃ
1 cup flour โฃโฃ
2 tablespoons cornstarch โฃโฃ
1 teaspoon paprika โฃโฃ
1 teaspoon coriander powder โฃโฃ
1 teaspoon turmeric โฃโฃ
Pinch of salt โฃโฃ
Vegetable oil for frying โฃโฃ

Combine the mayonnaise, Zaatar, olive oil, garlic and salt. Mix and place in the fridge until you are ready to use. โฃโฃ

Cut the block of halloumi lengthwise into little batons. Halloumi can sometimes be salty and if you fry without washing it might be too salty to enjoy.


Place in a bowl, wash, drain excess water off but do not pat dry. That moisture is what will help the flour mixture adhere to the halloumi. โฃโฃโฃโฃ


In a plate mix, together the flour, cornstarch, and spices. โฃโฃ
โฃโฃ


Roll the wet halloumi sticks into the flour and set aside. โฃโฃ
โฃโฃ

Place a pot over medium-high heat and add enough vegetable oil to shallow fry the halloumi. โฃโฃ

Once hot, carefully place the fries into the oil and fry until golden brown. โฃโฃ
โฃโฃDrain on paper towels before serving with the Zaatar Mayo. โฃ
